The Irish were fortunate to be the first whiskey distillery to coin the term "whiskey" from the Irish word uisce beatha, which means "water of life." Irish whiskey can only be produced in Ireland or Northern Ireland using wort, distilled with water and caramel color, aged in wooden barrels for three years before being consumed. The final flavor can be grainy or bourbon-like, or grassy but is usually smoother than its other whiskey types.
Irish whiskey is the greatest gift from Ireland, besides Liam Neeson.
